Crochet hooks: 

•  4mm and 3.5mm.

Sizes: 

• Hat: one size S-L/ head circumference 54cm - 58cm/ 21 ¼'' – 23''.
  Finished not stretched hat measures (width x height): 25.6cm x 23.9cm/ 10 1/8'' x 9 ½''.

• Scarf: short: 106.7cm x 22.5cm/ 42'' x 8 7/8'', long: 158cm x 22.5cm/ 62.2'' or 5.2ft x 8 7/8'').

 

Recommended materials: 

• DK/ 8ply yarn (see 3 options below).
  Scroll down to see yarn usage separately for hat and scarf and for the tester's version.
  4(6) means that you will need 4 skeins for a set with a shorter scarf, and 6 skeins for a version with a longer scarf.

• Option 1 (prototype and tester's version): Scheepjes Softfun (60% Cotton x 40% Acrylic, 50g/ 140m/ 153yds).
  dark: 4(6) skeins/ 194(253)g in 2601/ Graphite including short (long) scarf.  
  light: 3(4) skeins/ 141(187)g in 2412/ Snow.

• Option 2: Scheepjes Merino Soft (50% Merino Wool x 25% Micro x 25% Acrylic, 50g/ 105m/ 115yds).
  dark: 6(7) skeins/ 251(327)g in 605/ Hogarth including short (long) scarf.
  light: 4(5) skeins/ 186(218)g in 600 Malevich.

• Option 3: Scheepjes Scramptious (50% Recycled Polyester (recycled plastic bottles) x 50% Acrylic, 100g/ 300m).
  or Option 4: Scheepjes Colour Crafter (100% Premium Acrylic (Anti Pilling), 100g/ 300m).
  dark: 2(3) skeins/ 181(236)g including short (long) scarf.
  light: 2(2) skeins/ 132(174)g.

• For a smaller or bigger hat use lighter or heavier yarn with appropriate hook size.

• Crochet hooks 4mm or size to obtain gauge and 3.5mm (1 size smaller for scarf first and last rows), tapestry needle, matching dark yarn sewing thread (for hat).
