This pattern includes:

• Written instructions in American crochet terms, videos for stitches and techniques used in the pattern, first 4 rounds, charts, step pictures for making lining.

• Width x Height: 39cm x 40cm/ 15 3/8'' x 15 ¾''. Bag handles length: 62cm/ 24 3/8''.

 

Recommended materials: 

Note:

• The bag doesn't have a bottom. If you'd like to make one, add 25g/ 114m/ 125yds of Yarn1, and start with bottom instructions on p. 37. Keep in mind, that the bag is already tall without the bottom, so the bottom would add even more. If you make one, it is strongly recommended to re-enforce it with plastic canvas to keep it flat.

Solid color version:

• Scheepjes Whirlette (60% Cotton x 40% Acrylic, Fingering/ 4 ply weight, 100g/ 455m/ 497.6yds).
  Yarn1 (dark): 2 skeins/ 180g/ 819m/ 896yds in 891/ Chestnut,
  including 130g/ 592m/ 647yds for mosaic part, 10g/ 46m/ 50yds for upper edge backing, 40g/ 160m/ 175yds for handles. Pillow: skip yarn for backing and handles.
  Yarn2 (light): 2 skeins/ 110g/ 501m/ 548yds in 860/ Ice or 866/ Almond Butter.
  Yarn3 (optional; darker color for nostrils, eyes, and spots inside years): 10g of 883 Bitter Coffee.

Gradient color version:

• Scheepjes Whirl (60% Cotton x 40% Acrylic, Fingering/ 4 ply weight, 215-225g/ 1000m/ 1094yds).
  Yarn1 (dark) and Yarn2 (light): 1 cake in 777/ Scrumptious Lush or other cake that divides at about 50/50 ratio into 2 contrast colors.

• Scheepjes Whirlette get from Wool Warehouse or LoveCrafts (60% Cotton x 40% Acrylic, Fingering/ 4 ply weight, 100g/ 455m/ 497.6yds).
  Yarn1 (dark): 1 skein in 891/ Chestnut/ matching Whirl dark end color for lower part of mosaic and handles. See Instructions on p. 6 for directions to divide yarn.
  Yarn3 (optional; darker color for nostrils, eyes, and spots inside years): 10g of 883 Bitter Coffee.

Other materials and tools:

• 2.5mm crochet hook, tapestry needle, for bag only: magnetic clasp, sewing thread, sewing machine, a piece of plastic canvas to re-enforce the optional bottom.

• Bag lining:
  Option1:
  - 45cm/ 17 ¾'' of pre-quilted fabric (finish and measure the bag first, add 6cm/ 2 3/8'' to the length; add 4cm/ 1 ½'' if making a bag bottom),
  - 5cm x 79cm/ 2'' x 31 1/8'' piece of buckram (very stiff backing for hats and bags) to stiffen upper edge.
  Option 2:
  - 81cm/ 32'' of 51cm/ 20'' wide Pellon 70 Peltex Sew-In Ultra Firm Stabilizer (bag width x2 plus 5cm/ 2''),
  - 45cm/ 17 ¾'' of fabric (finish and measure the bag first, add 6cm/ 2 3/8'' to the length; add 4cm/ 1 ½'' if making a bag bottom).

• Pillow:
  - 40-43cm/ 15 3/8''-17'' pillow insert,
  - pillow insert length invisible zipper.

​Materialen en Benodigdheden:

• De tas heeft geen bodem. Als je een tasbodem wil maken, voeg dan 25g/ 114m toe van Kleur1, en start met de bodem instructies op p. 41. Hou er rekening mee dat de tas al behoorlijk groot is zonder bodem, de bodem maakt de tas groter. Als je kiest voor een bodem, is het sterk aanbevolen om die te verstevigen met plastiek om de bodem plat te houden.

Garen voor effen kleurversie:

• Scheepjes Whirlette * (60% Katoen x 40% Acryl, 100g/ 455m).
  Kleur1 (donker): 2 bollen/ 180g/ 819m in 891/ Chestnut,
  bevat 130g/ 592m voor mozaïek deel, 10g/ 46m voor bovenrand, 40g/ 160m voor handvatten. Kussen: negeer garen voor de bovenrand en de handvatten..
  Kleur2 (licht): 2 bollen/ 110g/ 501m in 860/ Ice of 866/ Almond Butter.
  Kleur3 (optioneel; donkerdere kleur voor neusgaten, ogen en binnenkant oren): 10g in 883/ Bitter Coffee.

Garen voor versie met kleurverloop:

• Scheepjes Whirl *(60% Katoen x 40% Acryl, 215-225g/ 1000m).
  Kleur1 (donker) en Kleur2 (licht): 1 bol in 777/ Scrumptious Lush of andere kleur Whirl die kan opgedeeld worden in ongeveer 50/50 ratio in 2 contrasterende strengen/bollen.

• Scheepjes Whirlette * (60% Katoen x 40% Acryl, 100g/ 455m).
  Kleur1 (donker): 1 bol in 891/ Chestnut/ donkere eindkleur voor het begin van het mozaïek, de bovenrand (vouwt naar binnen) en de handvatten. Zie instructies op p. 6 voor hulp voor het verdelen van het garen.
  Kleur3 (optioneel; donkerdere kleur voor neusgaten, ogen en binnenkant oren): 10g in 883/ Bitter Coffee.

Overige materialen en benodigdheden:

• 2.5mm haaknaald, weefnaald, voor de tas: magnetische sluiting, naaigaren, naaimachine, een stuk plastic om de optionele bodem te verstevigen.

• Vering tas:
  Optie1:
  – Ongeveer 45cm gewatteerde stof (maak de tas eerst af en meet op, voeg 6cm toe aan de lengte),
  - Optioneel: 5cm x 79cm stuk buckram (vliesline/ zeer stijve stof voor hoeden en tassen) om de bovenrand te verstevigen

• Optie 2:
  - 81cm of 51cm brede Pellon 70 Peltex Sew-In Ultra Firm Stabilizer (tas breedte x2 plus 5cm),
  - 45cm stof (maak de tas eerst af en meet op, voeg 6cm toe aan de lengte; voeg 4cm als je een tas bodem maakt).

• Kussen:
  - 40-43cm onzichtbare rits,
  - 40-43cm kussen vulling.
