Note about using Whirl and matching Whirlette:

​

1. Divide Whirl: Choose Whirl that divides at about 50/50 into dark and light portions such as 777 Scrumptious Lush.

2. Optional bottom: Use matching 891 Chestnut Whirlette.

3. Yarn 1 (dark contrast): Use matching 891 Chestnut Whirlette for odd Rnds 1-59, then switch to Whirl from inside for all remaining odd rnds and for the upper edge backing.

4. Yarn 2 (light background): Wind off 21g from outside of the Whirl (it's too dark), then use Whirl from outside for all even rnds.

• Closure: magnetic sew-on clasp

• Bottom reinforcement: a piece of plastic canvas

• Lining:

• Pre-quilted fabric: 45cm/ 17 ¾'' 
  Calculation: finish and measure the bag, add to the length: 6cm/ 2 3/8'' (version without the bottom) or 10cm/ 5'' (with the bottom)

• Stiff stabilizer: 5cm x 79cm/ 2'' x 31 1/8'' piece of buckram (very stiff backing for hats and bags) to stiffen upper edge

Pillow:

• Pillow insert: pillow size or up to 1-2 cm/ ⅜ – ¾'' bigger

• Zipper (optional): 34 cm/ 13 ⅜'' invisible zipper
  Calculation: pillow width minus 5cm/ 2''
